Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi fiercely. He said that those playing with national security and raising questions on the valor of the army are talking about patriotism and sacrifice today. Weakening the military morale of the country, in the hurry to shine politics, there is always a mess with the crown prince of the Congress. Rahul Gandhi has no answer in spreading misconceptions and misleading.

He said that the eternal flame of Amar Jyoti is not being extinguished, Rahul Ji, it is being merged with the burning flame at the National War Memorial. The same National War Memorial which Congress leaders had opposed.

He said that the great hero of the freedom struggle, Subhash Chandra Bose was a hero whose blood of patriotism always flowed in his veins. Netaji will remain an inspiration for the coming generations of India. An example of courage and determination, I congratulate the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to install a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary. This historic decision is a tribute on behalf of a grateful nation to the great son of Mother Bharati.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi made a tweet expressing opposition to this decision. He wrote that some people cannot understand patriotism and sacrifice. Rahul tweeted, 'It is very sad that the Amar Jyoti which used to burn for our brave soldiers will be extinguished today. Some people can't understand patriotism and sacrifice – never mind…we will burn the Amar Jawan Jyoti once again for our soldiers!'

Apart from this, Congress leader Manish Tiwari has attacked the BJP government. He said that whatever is happening is a matter of national mourning and is an attempt to rewrite history. The merger of Amar Jawan Jyoti with War Memorial means erasing history. The BJP has built the National War Memorial, which does not mean that they can extinguish the Amar Jawan Jyoti.
