Secretary of State Tony Blinken said the US has designated four members of the Al Qaeda and Pakistani Taliban groups as global terrorists. Blinken further said that this action shows that we will continue to use all relevant means to uphold our commitment to ensure that no terrorists gain a foothold in Afghanistan.

The terrorists who have been added to this list on Thursday are Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) emir Osama Mahmood, emir Atif Yahya Ghauri, and Muhammad Maroof, responsible for recruiting more people into the group. Sanctions have also been imposed on Qari Amjad of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who harbors terror in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
