Bollywood actor Sonu Sood met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday at his Mumbai residence. The meeting between Sood and Pawar took place in the morning and the two held talks for about an hour.
However, the reason behind the meeting has not been revealed. But the meeting between the two took place at a time when the Brihanmumbai Municipality (BMC) recently issued a notice to the actor. The BMC has alleged that the actor made structural changes to the six-story residential building 'Shaktisagar' and converted it into a commercial hotel. It is in the Juhu area.
The BMC inspected the building and found that Sood did not follow the rules. He then sent a complaint to the police. The BMC also found that the alleged illegal construction continued even after a notice was given to Sood in October last year. BMC has also complained to Juhu police station.
Sood has filed a petition before the Bombay High Court against the notice of BMC and demanded the court to stop the BMC from forcing any action against them for alleged illegal construction. The actor has claimed that he has not done any illegal construction in the six-story building.
Actor Sonu Sood's popularity rose sharply after the Coronavirus lockdown when he arranged for buses and even flights for hundreds of laborers going on foot. A few months ago, Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamna questioned the resources available to the actor and linked it to his chances of joining the BJP. The actor later met Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at 'Matoshree' and told him that all parties had helped him.
