262 million viewers tuned in to India-Windies encounter

Mumbai March 12 (IANS) A staggering 262 million viewers tuned in to watch the India versus West Indies cricket World Cup Pool B game as the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side registered their fourth consecutive win on March 6, according to a Star Sports report.

Over half a billion fans have tuned in to the quadrennial event for the first 29 matches.

In the Pool B game at the WACA in Perth, defending champions India were in a spot of bother losing six wickets chasing a modest total of 182. But skipper Dhoni (45) ensured his team got over the line, clinching the contest with four wickets to spare.
