
Punjab Police has arrested another Pakistani spy in the second major action in the last 24 hours. The accused is a YouTuber. Giving information on the arrest, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) has arrested Jasbir Singh, a resident of village Mahalan in Rupnagar from Mohali.
Jasbir Singh runs a channel named 'Jaan Mahal' on YouTube. His connection has come out with PIO Shakir alias Jatt Randhawa. The accused is part of a terror-supported espionage network. He also maintained contact with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, arrested from Haryana on charges of espionage, and Pakistani citizen and Pak High Commission official Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish.
The accused was in contact with Jyoti Malhotra.
According to information received from police sources, the name of accused Jasbir came up during the interrogation of Jyoti Malhotra, arrested from Hisar in Haryana recently. This accused was associated with Jyoti Malhotra. They have also talked to each other several times.
It is being told that through Jyoti Malhotra, the accused Jasbir came in contact with the expelled officer of the Pakistan High Commission, Ehsan ur Rahim alias Danish. In the preliminary investigation, the police found some objectionable photos and videos from the mobile of the accused. At the same time, the numbers of some people from Pakistani intelligence agencies have also been found on his phone. He had saved these numbers under different names.
Will be presented in court today
The accused will be presented in Mohali District Court today. After presenting him, his remand will be obtained. During the remand, the police will interrogate him. The police suspect that some other people may also be involved with him. The police has given information about the accused to the intelligence department.
At the same time, the input related to the accused was shared with the Punjab Police by the intelligence department. After that, the police took this action. Soon the central security agency will also join the interrogation of the accused.
