Yashwant Sinha, who was the finance and foreign minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, parted ways with the party, alleging that he had been sidelined. He surrounds the Modi government and is one of the harshest critics of the central government these days. In the last few years, leaders like Shatrughan Sinha, Kirti Azad, and Navjot Singh Sidhu split from the party.
