Fans are incredibly excited to soon see Ranbir Kapoor in the role of 'Lord Shri Ram' in Nitesh Tiwari's film, Ramayana: Part 1. Meanwhile, there is yet another exciting piece of news for fans of Bollywood's 'Saawariya'—news that will surely have them jumping for joy.
Ranbir Kapoor is soon set to begin work on the next installment of his most successful blockbuster franchise film, which was originally released in 2022. The question remains: which film will Ranbir Kapoor work on after Ramayana, and what does his future lineup look like?
Filming for the Successful Franchise to Begin After 4 Years
Ayan Mukerji, the director of the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, had originally planned to create the film as a trilogy. It has been nearly four years since the release of the first installment; however, work on the second part had not yet commenced. Periodically, either Ranbir or Ayan Mukerji would offer fans glimmers of hope regarding the project, but in recent times, it appeared as though the filming for Brahmastra 2 was nowhere in sight.
The constant stream of updates regarding Brahmastra: Part 2—coupled with the impression that the film had been shelved—was causing significant disappointment among fans. However, Namit Malhotra, the producer of Ramayana, has now alleviated these fan concerns by confirming that work on the next installment of Brahmastra will begin immediately after the filming of Ramayana is completed.
It is worth noting that it was Namit Malhotra's VFX company that executed the spectacular visual effects for Brahmastra Part 1. He was also the one who had previously dropped hints regarding the film's progress. For the uninitiated, the first installment of Brahmastra proved to be a massive hit at the box office, raking in an impressive worldwide gross of approximately ₹425 to ₹430 crore.
Ranbir Set to Become the 'King' of the Box Office in 2026 and 2027!
These days, Ranbir Kapoor is immersed in the filming of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War, while simultaneously engaging in preparations and promotional activities for his upcoming epic film, Ramayana. Ranbir Kapoor has several major, mega-budget projects lined up for 2026 and 2027—ventures that could well cement his status as the 'King' of the box office. He is set to appear in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana series. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, he will share the screen with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
In the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster hit Animal, he will be seen playing a dual role under the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Furthermore, Ranbir will also be spearheading the next installments of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra series—Parts 2 and 3.
