The planes carrying the President and Prime Minister of India will now be protected like the planes carrying the US President. Two specially upgraded Boeing-777 aircraft will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Air India One' fleet by the end of September.

The specialty of these aircraft is that they will be able to counter the threat of any missile attack. It is being told that the first aircraft of the pair of Boeing-777 aircraft will reach India from the US by the end of August, the second aircraft will arrive here a month later.

These aircraft will be equipped with 'Self Protection Suits' (SPS), which include infrared and electronic warfare technology. In addition, the aircraft will have a missile warning system, capable of firing missiles. At the same time, aircraft will also be equipped with technology capable of circumventing the enemy's radar system. Officials said that these aircraft will have security measures in the 'Airforce One' of the President of America.

Air India had sent a pair of new Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft for VVIP travel to the US-based Boeing Facility Center in Dallas, where they would be fitted with a missile defense system. The cost of planting it is about 1400 crores (190 million dollars). Aircraft records from open source websites show that both aircraft were less than three years old and were rarely used.

These aircraft will be used for the visits of President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Managing Director of the Center for Air Power Studies (CAPS), Air Marshal KK Nauhwar (Retd) said that there is always a possibility of danger on VVIP people. Whatever measures a nation needs to take to protect its top leadership must be done.

Currently, the Prime Minister, President and Vice President use Air India's Boeing B747 aircraft. They are more than two decades old. The aircraft carrying the President has been in service for almost 26 years. It is being told that the new Air Force One aircraft will have office space, meeting rooms and communication systems.

It has been reported that these aircraft will have the facility to fly between India and the US without refueling.
