He is upset over the preference being given to new faces in the party over old workers. Vandana also said that Priyanka Gandhi does not give meeting time to party workers. She has not been able to meet him for two years. Priyanka Maurya, the poster girl of the 'Girl Hoon, Fight Hoon' campaign, has already left Congress and joined the BJP. She too was upset over not getting the ticket.

Vandana said that she tried to meet the party's top leadership and Priyanka Gandhi before resigning, but was not given time.
