NASA is about to launch the Artemis 1 mission today through its powerful Orion spacecraft. All the preparations for this launch have been completed. It will be launched from Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Station in Florida at around 8:33 am local time (between 5-6 pm Indian time). This launch pad is very special because it is a test flight for a future manned mission to the moon. In the coming time, NASA will send the first woman to the Moon. This mission is part of NASA's Deep Space Exploration. NASA will also live stream the launch on its website and app. About 2 lakh people are expected to gather to see this launch. People have also reached Florida to see it from abroad.
Mission duration: 42 days, 3 hours, and 20 minutes.
Mission Distance: During this time a distance of 13 lakh miles (12 lakh km) will be covered.
After completing the mission, on October 10, 2022, this capsule will fall into the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of San Diego.
During the return, its speed will be about 25 thousand meters per hour (40 thousand km per hour).
This mission will be accomplished with the world's most powerful rocket.
During this entire mission, a distance of about 2.80 miles (4.50 lakh km) will be covered from the Earth.
This mission will pass through that dark part of the moon which remains a mystery to date. The distance from this to its destination will be 64 thousand km.
During this entire mission, the Orion spacecraft will roam without being attached to the space station.
The solid rocket booster installed in this rocket will separate from it only after about two minutes of launch. After 8 minutes the core stage and RS25 engine will be separated from it.
Through the interim cryogenic propulsion stage, it will travel further to the moon. This will be used to take it out of Earth's orbit and push it further to the Moon.
Orion will separate from ICPS about 2 hours after launch. ICPS will soon deploy 10 smaller satellites known as CubeSats. All these satellites will play a big role in the study of the moon.
