New Aadhaar App Introduces Contact Card: Share Your Mobile Number Securely in Seconds Without Revealing Personal Details

Posted on 23rd Jul 2026 01:41 pm by rohit kumar

The new Aadhaar App has received a major upgrade with several digital services that allow users to manage their Aadhaar details without visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Among the most useful additions is the Contact Card feature, which enables users to instantly share their verified contact details through a secure QR code.

With this feature, users can securely exchange their name, mobile number and email ID without typing or verbally sharing their details, making the process faster, easier and more reliable.

What Is the Aadhaar App Contact Card Feature?

The Contact Card is a digital visiting card generated using the information already verified in your Aadhaar records.

Instead of manually entering your details, the app creates a secure QR code that others can scan to instantly save your contact information on their smartphones.

Since the information comes directly from the Aadhaar database, it reduces the chances of incorrect phone numbers, spelling mistakes or fake details.

How to Generate Your Aadhaar Contact Card

Creating your Contact Card takes only a few minutes.

Follow These Steps:

Download the new Aadhaar App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Log in using your 6-digit PIN or biometric authentication.

Open the Services section from the home screen.

Under Other Services, tap Share Contact.

The app will instantly generate a secure QR code.

The recipient only needs to scan the QR code using their smartphone, after which your verified contact details will appear on their screen and can be saved with a single tap.

How to Download the Contact Card

Users can also save their Contact Card for future use.

Simply select Download Contact Card, and the QR code will be stored in your phone\'s gallery.

The downloaded QR code can then be shared anytime through messaging platforms such as:

WhatsApp

SMS

Email

Other messaging apps

This allows you to share your contact information even when the recipient is not physically present.

What Information Can You Share?

The Contact Card only shares essential verified information, including:

Name

Mobile Number

Email ID

Organization Name (if available)

One of the biggest advantages is that these details are pulled directly from Aadhaar records, helping prevent incorrect or misleading information.

You Can select What to Share

The Aadhaar App also gives users greater privacy control.

Using the Edit Fields option, you can select exactly which information will appear on your Contact Card.

Only the fields you select will be included in the QR code shared with others.

More Services Available in the New Aadhaar App

Apart from the Contact Card, the updated Aadhaar App also enables users to manage several services from home, including:

Address update

Mobile number update

Email ID update

Digital identity management

Secure Aadhaar-based verification

These services significantly reduce the need to visit Aadhaar enrollment or update centres.

Benefits of the Aadhaar Contact Card

Share your mobile number instantly through a QR code.

No need to type or verbally dictate contact details.

Information is verified through Aadhaar records.

Reduces errors while saving contact information.

Works both in person and remotely via messaging apps.

Lets users control which information is shared.

Functions like a secure digital visiting card.
