Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Sankalp Saptah' for aspirational blocks in the country at Bharat Mandapam. 'Sankalp Saptah' is associated with the effective implementation of the Aspirational Block Program (ABP). The program ‘Sankalp Saptah’ for the aspirational blocks will run throughout the week. During this, PM Modi also talked to the people. He said that the Aspirational Districts Program has transformed the lives of more than 25 crore people in 112 districts. The success of the program will now form the basis of the aspirational block program.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that block panchayat has a big role in the aspirational block program. Only when every Gram Panchayat works fast will the development of every block happen rapidly. I congratulate and thank all those who are associated with this mission.
He said that the people who have come here (Bharat Mandapam) now are the people who are concerned about the remote villages of the country. Sitting at the east end are the people who are worried about the family. Some people carry forward plans for their welfare and this month, those people were also sitting here who used to give direction to the world.
PM Modi said the Bharat Mandapam, where world leaders gathered to discuss global issues, is now hosting individuals who bring change at the grassroots level. For me, this summit is as important as the G20 summit.
He said that we have worked with a very simple strategy for the Aspirational District Programme, because if we do not do all-round development, all-touching development, and all-beneficial development, then the figures may give satisfaction, but fundamental change is not possible. It happens. Therefore, we must move forward by making changes at the grassroots.
The Prime Minister said that we have to come out of this thinking that the government will do everything. The power of society is the greatest. In my experience, results are achieved quickly in those blocks or districts where there is power to unite the society. This is the reason that today the campaign of cleanliness has made its place and an environment has been created in which littering should not be done.
Launched by PM Modi on January 7, 2023
The nationwide program was launched by PM Modi on January 7, 2023. It aims to improve administration at the block level to enhance the quality of life of citizens. It is being implemented in 500 aspirational blocks of 329 districts of the country. To implement the Aspirational Block Program and prepare an effective block development strategy, brainstorming camps were organized at village and block levels across the country. ‘Sankalp Week’ is the result of these thinking camps. The inaugural program was attended by around 3,000 panchayat and block-level public representatives and officials from across the country at the Bharat Mandapam. Apart from this, about two lakh people including block and panchayat level officials, farmers, and persons from other areas will join the program virtually.
different theme every day
In the ‘Sankalp Saptah’, celebrated from October 3 to October 9, 2023, each day is dedicated to a specific development theme on which all the aspirational blocks will work. The themes of the first six days include ‘Complete Health’, ‘Well-Nourished Family’, ‘Sanitation’, ‘Agriculture’, ‘Education’, and ‘Prosperity Day’. On the last day of the week i.e. October 9, 2023, the work done during the entire week will be celebrated as ‘Sankalp Week – Concluding Ceremony’.
