अकेले मुंबई से रिपोर्ट किए गए 150 से अधिक कोरोनावायरस मामलों के साथ, देश के किसी भी शहर से सबसे अधिक, बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) उन क्षेत्रों को सील करने के लिए समय के खिलाफ दौड़ रहा है जहां सकारात्मक मामले पाए गए हैं।
बीएमसी जिन क्षेत्रों को सील करने की योजना बना रहा है, उनमें वे शामिल हैं जहाँ पुष्टि किए गए मामलों के संपर्क रहते हैं।
अब तक, नागरिक निकाय ने 140 पड़ोस को सील कर दिया है। इसमें दक्षिण मुंबई में 48, पश्चिम मुंबई में 46 और पूर्वी मुंबई में 48 शामिल हैं। इन क्षेत्रों से केवल आवश्यक वाहनों को ही आने और जाने दिया जाएगा।
मुंबई के अलावा, नवी मुंबई, ठाणे और डोंबिवली में नगर निगम के अधिकारी भी इसी कार्रवाई की योजना बना रहे हैं।
इससे पहले, बीएमसी ने कहा कि उसने शहर में कोरोनोवायरस प्रभावित क्षेत्रों की भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस) मैपिंग शुरू की थी। BMC कमिश्नर प्रवीण परदेशी ने मंगलवार को एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा कि जिन क्षेत्रों में कोरोनोवायरस के मामलों की संख्या अधिक है, उन्हें नागरिक निकाय की वेबसाइट पर पोस्ट किया जाएगा।
भारत में महाराष्ट्र सबसे अधिक प्रभावित राज्य है जहां से 320 मामले सामने आए हैं। स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों ने बुधवार को कहा कि दो और COVID-19 मरीजों की मौत के बाद राज्य में मौत का आंकड़ा 12 तक पहुंच गया। रिकवरी के बाद उनतीस कोरोनोवायरस पॉजिटिव मरीजों को छुट्टी दे दी गई है।
मुंबई के एक 75 वर्षीय व्यक्ति और पालघर जिले में एक 50 वर्षीय व्यक्ति की मृत्यु कोरोनोवायरस के कारण हुई।
एक अधिकारी ने कहा, "75 वर्षीय पुरुष मरीज की मंगलवार को यहां मौत हो गई। हम उसके यात्रा इतिहास का विवरण पा रहे हैं और यह भी जांच रहे हैं कि उसके किसी करीबी का यात्रा इतिहास था या नहीं।"
उन्होंने कहा कि पालघर का कोई यात्रा इतिहास नहीं था।
