Team India has been announced for the five-match T20 series against West Indies to be held later this month. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected an 18-member team for the five-match T20I series on the Caribbean tour. On this tour, Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the team in the T20 series, while Virat Kohli is not part of the team.
The surprising thing is that R Ashwin has made a comeback in T20 International cricket. The legendary off-spinner got a chance in the first T20 World Cup, but after that, he could play only one series and then got out. However, the good thing is that KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have also returned, but these players will be able to return to the team only after passing the fitness test.
Virat Kohli has not got a place in the team for this tour. He was rested from the ODI team, while the BCCI has not given any information regarding the T20 series. If it is said that he is out of the T20 team then it will not be wrong. However, looking at his injury, it can be said that he has been rested. Apart from them, Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested. Bumrah has been rested as part of workload management, as Team India also has to play the Asia Cup at the end of August.
Apart from Virat and Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal has also been rested, and will not be a part of this five-match T20 series. Umran Malik was selected for three consecutive series, in which he got two chances, but was dropped in the fourth series. Apart from this, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson have also been dropped. Samson still played a good inning, but Gaikwad was seen struggling with form.
the team is like
Rohit Sharma (capt), Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul*, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav*, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh.
The five-match T20 International series between India and West Indies will start on July 29 and is going to run till August 7. The first three matches will be played on Caribbean soil, while two matches will be held in Lauderhill, Florida. This is the territory of the USA. The first match will be played on July 29, the second on August 1, the third on August 2, the fourth on August 6, and the fifth on August 7.
