The BSP on Friday (January 28) released another list of 53 candidates. Five women and 16 Muslims were given tickets on this list. The special thing is that Anjali, the daughter of BN Maurya, who was once close to Swami Prasad Maurya, has got the ticket from Unchahar, from where Swami Prasad Maurya's son contested in 2017 on a BJP ticket. At the same time, the son of BJP leader and former caretaker Chief Minister Ammar Ansari has also been given a ticket by the BSP.

There are 16 Muslim candidates on the list released on Friday. The party has fielded Muslim candidates in four of the nine seats in Lucknow. Anees Khan Phulbabu has got a ticket from Pilibhit's Bisalpur. Anees has been an MLA from here four times. He has been a minister in the Mayawati government. Zakir Hussain will be the BSP candidate from Palia. The BSP has fielded Muslim candidates in four of the seven seats in the Sitapur district. Hashim Ali has got a ticket from Biswan's seat. BJP had won from here in 2017. Khurshid Ansari has got a ticket from the Sitapur seat. Junaid Ansari from Laharpur, Meesam Ammar Rizvi from Mahmudabad have been given tickets. Meesam is the son of BJP leader Ammar Rizvi. Before joining the BJP in October 2019, Ammar was counted among the top leaders of Congress. Ammar has been the caretaker Chief Minister of UP twice. Rizvi was the leader of the opposition in the UP Legislative Council as well as a minister five times.

BSP has given a ticket to Unnao rape case witness Devendra Singh Mahabali from Unnao Sadar. Devendra has been a member of the Zilla Panchayat. His father Shishupal Singh is the head of Makhi. Unnao rape case happened in Makhi.
