Railways will try to live up to the expectations of about 800 crore people traveling through this. Hydrogen trains will start running in the country by December this year. It is being designed and manufactured entirely based on indigenous technology.
Target was not met due to a lack of investment
He said that the Kalka-Shimla heritage circuit would be run first. After this, five-six other circuits are selected. Then preparations are being made to run it at other places as well. The Railway Minister said that there was a lack of investment in Railways for many years, due to which the target could not be met, but now there will be no shortage of budget. This is a big change.
75 Vande Bharat trains will run till August 15
He said that 1275 stations would be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These include all major and medium-scale stations. The manufacturing of Vande Bharat trains will be redesigned. Till now it is being made under the seating arrangement, but now sleeper trains are being made. This year, till August 15, 75 Vande Bharat trains are to be run, which are being made in Chennai. Soon it will also be built in Sonepat in Haryana, Latur in Maharashtra, and Rae Bareli in UP.
The Railway Minister said that 85 percent of the tracks have been electrified. Setting up the ultra mega solar plant. There will be separate corridors for infrastructure development. Bullet train work will move ahead in Maharashtra as well. At present, 12 km of track is being laid daily in the country. Will take it further in the current year.
He said that the government has proposed to manufacture 35 hydrogen fuel-based trains and the first train will be made by December 2023. Under this 4,500 newly designed automobile carrier coaches, 5,000 LHB coaches, and 58,000 wagons will be manufactured.
The speed of laying tracks will be increased
Meanwhile, the Railway Minister expressed his desire to increase the speed of laying tracks. He said that ten years ago, 4 km of new tracks were laid daily. But now tracks are being laid up to 12 km daily, this will be increased to 16 km daily.
