Bhubaneswar, Feb 4 (IANS) The CBI Wednesday searched the office of Saradha company in Puri in connection with a chit fund scam in Odisha.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched the office of the Kolkata-based company at Badashankha in Puri, said CBI sources.
The company allegedly duped thousands of depositors to the tune of Rs.10 crore in the area. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the state Crime Branch had sealed the branch of the company in April 2014.
The EOW had seized computer hard disks and documents from the Badashankha office of the Saradha. Last year, the central investigating agency had conducted raids at several places in the state relating to the chit fund scam of Saradha.
