China is continuously increasing its military power. The matter of concern for the world including India is that China is continuously engaged in increasing the capacity of its nuclear weapons, which is a danger bell. The Pentagon said that China is likely to have a stockpile of about 1,500 warheads by 2035. China currently has around 400 warheads.

China is rapidly increasing the capacity of nuclear weapons

In its annual report to Congress on China's ambitious military build-up, the Pentagon said that under President Xi Jinping, work is progressing rapidly to increase the capacity of existing weapons. Over the next decade, Beijing aims to modernize, diversify and expand its nuclear forces. China's current nuclear modernization exercise exceeds past modernization efforts in both scale and complexity.

China is working on this strategy from 2021

The Pentagon said in the report that China is investing in and expanding its land-, sea- and air-based nuclear delivery platforms and building the infrastructure needed to support this major expansion of its nuclear forces. China is also working to increase its capacity to produce and separate plutonium by building fast breeder reactors and reprocessing facilities. China possibly accelerated its nuclear expansion in 2021.

China will have 1500 warheads by 2035

The Pentagon said it estimated China's stockpile of operational nuclear weapons to exceed 400. The PLA plans to 'basically complete modernization of its national defense and armed forces by 2035, with the report saying that if China continues the pace of its nuclear expansion, it will have around 1500 warheads by the 2035 deadline Will accumulate a stock of.

Why is China rapidly increasing its military power?

The Pentagon official said that Chinese President Xi Jinping's strategy seeks to adapt at least aspects of the international system to his political system and national interests. Therefore, China is working rapidly to enhance and expand its national power. Let us inform you that China is having border disputes with many countries including India, and Taiwan. The report claimed that China aims to expand its national power through both domestic and foreign policy aspects. So, the global security initiative that Xi Jinping launched... is one in which the PRC seeks to portray itself as a provider of global public goods.

Pentagon officials pointed out that there have been more drastic and aggressive actions in the Indo-Pacific region recently, some of which the US will highlight as dangerous activities. PLA ships and aircraft have displayed an increase in unsafe and unprofessional behavior in the Indo-Pacific region. China is making this area dangerous with continuous maneuvers. All this is part of China's strategy.

The Pentagon report, among other things, also draws attention to the intensified Chinese diplomatic, economic, political, and military pressure against Taiwan. The report highlights increasing military pressure through 2021 and its increase in 2022, especially after Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan. Also, the Pentagon report tells how the Chinese military sees the future of war.
