China alleged on Tuesday that the satellites of Elon Musk's company SpaceX have come twice near our space station. China says that this can threaten the safety of astronauts and has also complained to the United Nations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a press briefing on Tuesday that a collision with satellites launched by Elon Musk's Starlink Internet Services project had to be avoided.
"I can confirm that the SpaceX satellite link came very close to China's space station twice in July and October this year," Zhao said. During this, Chinese astronauts were carrying out their missions in the space station. He said that under the Outer Space Treaty, we had complained about this to the UN Secretary on December 3. Under the treaty, all entities must bear international responsibility for activities in outer space.
America was accused of violating the treaty
According to media reports, according to the documents submitted by China to the United Nations Office for the Affairs of Outer Space, the first of these incidents took place on July 1 and the second on October 21. Zhao alleged that the US was violating the provisions of the treaty and posing a serious threat to the astronauts. He said America should raise strict standards regarding such matters and act responsibly.
