During an interview, Burns told that last year he had a meeting with the head of Russia's intelligence agency, Sergei Narashkin, in Turkey. Burns said that the conversation was very disappointing. During this conversation, Burns tried to send a message to Sergei Naryshkin, and through him to Russian President Vladimir Putin, that if he used nuclear weapons, there would be dire consequences. The CIA chief said that Naryshkin and the Russian President also understand its seriousness.
