In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the common people to keep the news of the Corona infection during the Kumbh, now that the Kumbh should be kept symbolic. This appeal of PM has increased the difficulties of BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Because still some akharas want the Kumbh to continue and some want it to be abolished. To convince the saints, the BJP has started talks with different akharas at its level. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has clearly stated that Kumbh is a full term that neither decreases nor increases at the behest of anyone. We are appealing to people to come and go with their caution.
Third royal bath postponed
State President of Uttarakhand BJP Madan Kaushik said in a discussion with Amar Ujala, the second wave of corona infection is spreading very fast. Because of this, we are going to the saints of all the major akharas and requesting that there are two royal baths of Kumbh, postpone or signify the third royal bath. Most of the saints have also given assurance of signifying the next royal bath. Out of a total of 13, two akharas have also announced the end of Kumbh itself. We are in constant contact with the remaining 11 akharas. We are urging all of you to announce the termination itself, given the situation of Covid so that the crowd will be minimized.
Senior officials of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad told Amar Ujala, "On the appeal of the Prime Minister, the saints have to decide what will be the outline of Kumbh next." Kumbh is our tradition and the Sant Samaj is also expressing its concern. The Sant Samaj will make a decision soon after considering the PM's call.
A senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad official told Amar Ujala on anonymity, Kumbh is a full tenure, which neither decreases nor increases at the behest of someone. We are appealing to people to come and go with caution. Right now we are discussing with the akhadas what should be the outline of Kumbh. However, some akharas want the Kumbh to continue and some want the termination to be announced.
Many strings adrenaline
After the announcement of the end of Kumbh by Niranjani and Anand Akharas, some akharas have come out against it. While releasing his statement, Nirvani Akhara said that the right to declare the end of Kumbh Mela is with the authority of the Mela Officer and the Chief Minister of the state. Niranjani Akhara has committed the crime of creating chaos in society by saying so without any consent. Niranjani Akhara should apologize to the entire Akhara Council on such a statement. These decisions are taken together by all 13 arenas.
At the same time, because of why the corona is spreading in Haridwar, the arena has clashed with each other. The Bairagi Akhara in its statement has attributed the Saints arena to the corona infection. At the same time, Mahant Rajendra Das, President of Nirmohi Akhara, has blamed Akhara Parishad President Mahant Narendra Giri for the cases of increasing infection in Kumbh.
After the Prime Minister, Swami Awadheshanand also appealed
After talking to the Prime Minister, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand of Juna Arena also tweeted, 'We honor the call of PM! Preserving life is a great virtue. My Dharma Parayana urges the public not to come for a bath and discharge the rules in large numbers because of the circumstances of Covid. '
Here, because of the increasing cases of Corona, the Niranjani Akhara had announced to end the Kumbh Mela 15 days in advance. 17 saints of this arena have been infected. The secretary of the arena, Ravindra Puri, is infected. So far, more than 70 saints who attended the Kumbh Mela have been found corona infected. Two days ago, Mahamandaleshwar Kapil Devdas of All India Shri Panchirnavani Akhara has also died.
Significantly, during the two royal bathing programs organized during Haridwar Kumbh Mela, more than 31 lakh and 14 lakh devotees respectively took a dip in the Ganges. Demand for postponement of events like Kumbh has started coming up from across the country after more than 1000 Corona positive cases surfaced in Haridwar for two consecutive days at the beginning of this week. The time of Kumbh Mela in Haridwar is till 30 April. Due to Corona, this year Kumbh Mela was started from April 1 instead of January.
