Covid vaccination of children will start in January, children from two to 17 years will be vaccinated

The Health Department is increasing the list of children and adolescents along with vaccination. Now a target has been set to vaccinate 18 lakh children in the age group of two to 17 years. Earlier this target was 12 lakhs. The department is preparing to start their vaccination in January. Preparations are on to complete the vaccination of those above the age of 18 this year.

About 18 lakh children and adolescents will be vaccinated

CMO Dr. Sudhakar Pandey told that the vaccine of Zydus Cadila and Bharat Biotech can come for children and adolescents. Their trials have been done and the approval of the Ministry of Health has also been received. The number of children and adolescents in the district is about 18 lakh. In the first phase, sick children will be vaccinated. ASHA-Anganwadi and ANM have been given the responsibility of preparing a list of such children.

8581 people were vaccinated

Gorakhpur: In the Covid vaccination campaign, 8581 people were vaccinated against corona at 114 booths on Thursday. In 1693, the first and 6888 people were given the second dose. District Immunization Officer Dr. NK Pandey told that there is no shortage of vaccines. People should come forward for vaccination.

The heads of villages with 100% vaccination will be honored

DM Vijay Kiran Anand will honor the heads of village panchayats who have 100% vaccination in the Covid vaccination campaign. The list of such village heads has been prepared by the Health Department. Of these, there are five villages where 100% vaccination has been done. There are 37 such villages where 96 percent of the people have been given the second dose.

To promote vaccination, the DM has been directed to prepare a list of such gram panchayats, where the first and second doses have been administered to 100% people. On this, the Health Department prepared the list and it was found that 100 percent vaccination has been done in Basdila and Shivpur of Sardarnagar block, Sakhrua Buzurg of Gagaha block, Dehribhar, Bansgaha, and Rajpur villages. It has been decided to honor the heads of these villages Vinay Shukla, Dinanath, Khunkhun, Madhu Singh, Seema Singh, and Anil Paswan respectively. Apart from this, there are 37 such villages, where 96 percent of people have been given both doses. District Immunization Officer Dr. NK Pandey told that the DM will honor the heads of these villages. It is being prepared.
