The maths of figures is being played with our breath once again amid a formidable corona in the country. You are being given the comfort of being safe by getting caught in the game of numbers, but the reality is different. The statistics of the Health Department tell this reality. It has come to the fore that the number of corona and Omicron infected in the country rests only on the daily investigation. In such a situation, it is wise to protect ourselves in any situation.
Don't go by the number of infected
More than 1.80 lakh were infected in the country on Monday. Due to the presence of such a large number of infected people, there was an atmosphere of fear. On Tuesday, this number decreased and 1.68 lakh (1,68,063) cases were reported, but on Wednesday, once again 1.94 lakh (1,94,720) were infected. Looking at these figures, it is understood that Corona has surrounded us from all sides and the actual number of infected is much more than the reality.
How is the game going in testing?
Looking at the figures being presented by the Health Department, it seems that everything is dependent on the daily corona test. Actually, on January 10, samples of 15,79,928 people were taken in the country. Then only 1.68 lakh patients appeared. However, as soon as about two lakh tests increased on January 11, more than 26 thousand patients also increased. On January 11, 17,61,900 samples were taken and a record 1,94,720 patients were reported in the country.
How was the problem implicated in testing?
As the number of corona patients is increasing in the country, there is a problem with testing. ICMR has issued new guidelines amidst increasing cases of the corona. Now everyone does not need to get the corona test done. Even after coming in contact with the infected, only those people who are elderly or seriously ill will be tested. That is, even after coming in contact with the infected, you are not showing symptoms, then you do not even need to get tested.
There is a big discrepancy in Omicron's figures
On one hand, the Omicron variant of Corona is causing havoc in the world, so far only 4,868 patients have been reported in India. Genome sequencing is needed to confirm the omicron in the patient found positive in the corona test. Its labs in India are less than 40. In such a situation, even the states which are taking samples for genome sequencing, have to wait a long time for the report. Sources say that there is a wait of more than 10 days for a report.
States also reduced RTPCR tests
States have also reduced the RTPCR tests of Corona. Most of the tests are being done through rapid antigen. This is the reason that patients with mild symptoms are not getting caught in the antigen report. On the other hand, if their RTPCR test is done, then even patients without symptoms are coming out.
The slow test is confirmed from here
How slow the investigation of corona in the country is, is confirmed by a letter from the central government. A week ago, the central government had written a letter to nine states asking them to increase corona testing. Here the pace of corona investigation was very slow. A letter was written on behalf of the Center to the governments of Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, and Bihar.
