CUET 2022: The University Grants Commission i.e. UGC has given a big gift to the students of the country. Now the weightage of 12th marks of students will not matter much for admission in undergraduate courses in colleges. The UGC has now decided to conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). For this, the commission has also issued the necessary notification. This decision of UGC will apply to all central universities.
CUET 2022: Exam will be held in 13 languages
The detailed schedule of this exam can be released in the first week of April. The date of conduct of the examination will also be announced after this. The exam may be conducted in July. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be conducted by the University Grants Commission in 13 languages- Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Punjabi, Urdu, and English medium.
CUET 2022: 45 central universities to be included
A total of 45 central universities will be involved under the Common University Entrance Test issued by the University Grants Commission. This rule is being implemented from the session 2022-23 itself. However, other institutions including state, private universities can also adopt this rule. Other important information will be released soon by the UGC. Students keep an eye on the official website for the same.
CUET 2022: Why does the decision have to be taken?
Experts believe that there is a difference in the marking scheme of the 12th examination in the boards of different states of the country. For this reason, giving admission to graduation based on marks is not a just decision from anywhere. Apart from this, many universities also conduct their separate entrance exams and students have to appear in all the exams. To deal with these problems, the rule of the CUET exam has been brought to light.
CUET 2022: Why is CUCET not enough?
About 12 years ago, the rule of Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) was implemented in the country. However, to date, only 14 central universities have come under it. For this reason, now the provision of CUET has been brought. All 45 central universities have been brought under this. This decision of UGC has been taken under the New Education Policy 2020.
CUET 2022: What will be the exam pattern?
According to the information, the CUET exam will be for a total of 3.30 hours. In this, multiple-choice questions will be asked based on the NCERT syllabus. The exam can be in total 3 parts Language Test, 27 Domain Specific Test, and one General Aptitude Test.
