India has set a new record by exporting goods worth $ 400 billion in the current financial year 2021-22. The special thing is that the export target for April 2021 to March 2022 was achieved nine days before the end of the current financial year. Earlier in 2018-19, goods and services worth $ 330.07 billion were exported the highest.

 

 

Prime Minister Narendra on Wednesday said that exports have not only grown by 37 percent from last year but are the highest ever. The country had set an ambitious target of exports of $ 400 billion, which has been achieved nine days before the end of March 31. In the next nine days, the figure will increase a little more. Farmers, weavers, micro, small and medium industries, producers, exporters, congratulations to all of them for making records. This is a milestone in our journey to build a 'Self-reliant India'. Major export products: Petroleum, electronics, engineering, leather, coffee, plastics, readymade garments of all textiles, meat, dairy products, sea-borne products, and tobacco.

 

Achievement despite challenges

 

Ajay Sahai, director-general of FIEO, an Indian exporters' body, said that India achieved this record amid challenges like shortage of containers, increased freight prices, lack of capital. It is also $110 billion more than last year. This will have to be increased further in the future. This will be helped by Free Trade Agreement and Production Based Incentive (PLI) scheme. FIEO Vice President Khalid Khan said that this achievement is also important for the country because we have achieved it amid the pandemic.

India had made a record by exporting goods worth $ 330.07 billion in 2018-19. Exports were badly hit for the next two years due to the pandemic. Making improvements, India has broken a record by exporting more than $ 70 billion. In 2020-21, $292 billion was exported.
