At present, even stubble is not burning in neighboring states, nor are the weather conditions bad. Yet the air quality remains in the very poor category. Not only this time, but the air of Delhi also remains stifling every season. For this, along with the geographical location of Delhi, human activities are also responsible. However, measures also exist to control it. There is a need to implement the measures properly.

Delhi is surrounded by its neighboring states from all sides. Due to this, the situation of landlocked is created here. As a result, much of the pollution here does not get out and the pollution of neighboring states makes Delhi's air suffocating throughout the year. On the other hand, the pollution caused by vehicles, flying dust, and open burning waste is completed here.

According to the World Air Quality 2021 report, Delhi was the most polluted among 107 capital cities based on annual PM 2.5 levels. Not only this, Delhi has been the most polluted capital for the fourth time in a row. Delhi was also ranked first among the 92 most polluted cities in the year 2020, 85 in 2019, and 62 in 2018. The report of the Swiss Air Quality Technology Company states that there has been a 14.6 percent increase in the level of PM 2.5 in Delhi in the year 2021. This year 96.4 micrograms per cubic meter were recorded, while in 2020 it was recorded 84 micrograms per cubic meter were. The report said that the main sources of PM 2.5 include construction, engine smoke, and local burning of wood and coal. At the same time, naturally blowing dust is also responsible for the PM 2.5 element.

Delhi will get a breath from four urban forests

At present 17 urban forests have been created in the capital, which is spread over more than three thousand acres. At the same time, the government has also recently announced to make four urban forests world-class. These include Mitraun Village Urban Forest (98 acres), Alipore Urban Forest (48 acres), Garhi Mandu Urban Forest (42 acres), and Jaunapur Urban Forest (98 acres). Apart from increasing the greenery here, other facilities including a jungle walk and a meditation hut will also be available. The government aims to make these parks ecologically global level so that people can get environmental, economic, and social benefits here. With the preparation of cities and forests, the area of greenery in Delhi will also increase, while for this, along with talking to the people, their cooperation will also be taken.

These measures are being adopted to prevent pollution

For the prevention of pollution in Delhi, the Delhi government had prepared a summer action plan on the lines of the winter action plan. Under this, open waste burning, dumping of debris, roadside dust control, prevention of fire at landfill sites, rejuvenation of reservoirs, monitoring of parks, development of eco-waste parks, and urban farming, are major steps to stop single-use plastics. points were included. Environmental experts say that Delhi's air quality has deteriorated only if these measures are not followed properly. If these measures are implemented properly, the pollution of Delhi can be reduced to a great extent.
