IIT will help in connecting the students of Ladakh, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, from higher education to employment. Under the guidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country's top three IITs (Delhi, Kanpur, and Bombay) have been given the responsibility to pursue engineering, science, and maths courses in Ladakh's undergraduate program.
IIT will conduct internships for the students of these courses. Apart from this, admission will be given to M.Tech. BTech, BE, BSc, and MSc pass-out students can apply for admission to the MTech program till June 30.

The internship will consist of a short-term internship (one and a half to two months) and a long-term internship (six months). Students doing a Diploma in Polytechnic of Ladakh along with graduation can also join this internship.
The application fee for the short-term internship will be Rs 500 and a scholarship of Rs 15,000 will be available.
