An international symposium is being organized on Thursday, May 19 as part of the centenary celebrations of Delhi University. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate this three-day seminar on Revisiting Ideas of India from 'Swaraj' to 'New India' as the chief guest. The opening ceremony of the seminar will be held in the Multipurpose Hall of Sports Complex, University of Delhi.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the special guest at the inauguration ceremony, while the function will be presided over by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh. After the inaugural session, there will also be a special lecture by Mukul Kanitkar, National Organization Minister of the Indian Board of Education. The university said Kanitkar would throw light on his perspective on various aspects of the seminar. After the commencement of this seminar, the remaining academic sessions will be held at the conference center of the University.
The translated version of the UG Curriculum Framework is to be released
The university said that the symposium will have 16 sessions including four plenary sessions and about 100 eminent speakers of national and international importance will present their views. A brochure containing abstracts of research papers will also be launched in this seminar. In addition, a translated version of the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022, derived from the National Policy on Education, 2020, in Gujarati, Oriya, and Urdu languages will also be unveiled during the inaugural session of the seminar.
The closing ceremony will be held on May 21, Governor Khan will be the chief guest
The university said that the concluding session of the international symposium will be held on May 21. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will be the chief guest in the concluding session and ICCR President Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe will attend the concluding session as the special guest. The university said that this international symposium, organized by the Department of Political Science, DU, envisages understanding this journey of India through the ideas that have emerged in the recent past from the last two centuries.
