The symptoms of hypoglycemia can vary from person to person. Many times it experiences normal problems which also get cured by itself, but in some situations, its symptoms can be serious. When your blood sugar level is decreasing, it can be identified by many symptoms.
Feeling shaky or weak to sweating and chills, increased heart rate, confusion or trouble concentrating, nervousness or irritability, or your skin turning pale. It can also cause unconsciousness, so if you have diabetes and are having such problems, check your sugar immediately.
Symptoms can also be serious
Patients with symptoms of severe hypoglycemia require immediate emergency medical attention. In rare cases, there is a risk of coma or even death as a result of severe hypoglycemia. In this condition, the patient may have difficulty speaking, problems with physical coordination, or loss of consciousness, along with blurred or double vision. If the sugar level is continuously 60 or less, then there can be a risk of taking its serious form.
What to do if sugar is low?
According to the American Diabetes Association, if your sugar level becomes very low, then immediately eat a small amount of carbohydrates. This can improve the symptoms to a great extent, however, if you are experiencing severe symptoms and normal measures are not helping then contact a doctor immediately.
