Monsoon is now raining heavily in North India. The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that very heavy rains are expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan in the next several days. Monsoon will remain active in many parts of northwest, central and eastern India during this period.

Heavy rains will occur in these states.

IMD said, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Bengal, Sikkim and Jharkhand are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha may also receive heavy rains in a few days.

Some parts of Maharashtra will be under special watch

IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said in a press conference about the severity of the weather that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in central India and the adjoining southern peninsula.

This includes eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha and adjoining areas of Telangana and parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra. He said, we should keep an eye on the catchment areas of rivers like Godavari, Mahanadi and Krishna.

Cloudburst wreaks havoc in Himachal Pradesh.

Amid the massive devastation caused by a cloudburst on the night of June 30 in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, relief teams have found five more bodies on Wednesday. So far, 15 people have died in the natural disaster, while 58 are missing. 46 people are missing in the most affected Saraj area.

Four bodies have been recovered from Thunag, Pandavashila, and Jarol areas. The body of nine-year-old Kanika, missing from Syanj village of Gohar subdivision, was found on the banks of the Beas River in Jogendranagar.

Yamunatri highway remained closed.

Partial clouds remained on the Chardham and Adi Kailash Yatra route in Uttarakhand on Wednesday, and light rain was also recorded at some places. The road was filled with boulders on Wednesday due to a rock cracking on the Dhapa-Milam motor road adjacent to the China border.

Due to this, traffic remained halted for about two hours. At the same time, the Yamunotri highway remained closed for the fourth day on Wednesday. Vehicle movement has come to a halt due to the washing away of 15 meters of road near Ojri.

The water level increased due to a cloudburst in Sangla Valley

The water level in the drain increased due to cloudburst on the hill in front of Rakcham in Sangla valley of Kinnaur district on Tuesday evening. Shimla-Reckongpeo national highway remained closed for seven hours due to landslide on Tuesday night and debris falling from the hill near Purbani Jhula on Wednesday morning. Later BRO restored the route.
