Pune Porsche Car Accident: A big update has come in the Pune Porsche accident case. Pune City Police on Tuesday arrested Vishal Aggarwal, father of the accused minor. Besides, the bar owner and bar manager have also been arrested for serving liquor to a 17-year-old minor on the night of the accident.
According to officials, a Porsche car, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy, hit two motorcyclists in the Kalyani Nagar area on Sunday morning, killing them on the spot. Police claim that at that time he was intoxicated after drinking alcohol in a bar.
Father in custody, son will face adult trial
In this case, the police said on Monday that they would approach the High Court for permission to prosecute the minor involved in the accident as an adult. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said in this case, 'We have sent the father of the accused minor to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. He has been detained and is being brought to Pune. He will be arrested in the case registered against him.
Police have registered a case against the real estate developer under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act. At the same time, a case has also been registered against the owners and employees of the bar for serving liquor to a minor. An officer had earlier said that the investigation of these cases has been handed over to the Crime Branch.
Father knew son was a drug addict
According to the FIR lodged in connection with the incident, the father allowed his son to drive the car despite knowing that he did not have a valid driving license. Allowed him to party even though his father knew he drank.
Victim's families demanded justice
According to the information received, deceased Anish's grandfather Atmaram Awadiya said that the son of a prominent real estate agent in Pune should not have been granted bail. He said, 'Two people have died in this accident. This is completely wrong. We want strict punishment. The bail granted to the accused should be canceled. At the same time, deceased Ashwini's uncle Sachin Bokade also termed the bail as wrong and said, 'We want his bail to be canceled. Because of that, an innocent girl died, who had seen nothing in her life.
The incident happened on Sunday
On Sunday around 3.15 am, a group of friends were returning on a motorcycle after partying when a speeding Porsche hit one of the motorcycles at Kalyani Nagar Junction. Police said two bikers, Anees Awadiya and Ashwini Costa, a 24-year-old IT professional from Madhya Pradesh, died.
The minor was later produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which granted him bail a few hours later. He has also been asked to study the traffic rules and give a presentation before the board within 15 days.
