The case of a skirmish between Pakistan and Afghanistan has once again come to the fore on the Durand Line. Clashes broke out between Islamic Emirate forces and Pakistani border guards after the Taliban closed Torkham Gate, the main trading and crossing point. Tolo News has given this information. Simultaneously, people from both sides of the border started fighting in the upper area.

Karimullah Agha, an intelligence officer present at Torkham Gate, told that one of them is from Pakistan and the other is from our Defense Ministry. The closure of the gates caused hardships for many people in need of medical care overseas and their accompanying relatives. He called on both sides to reach an agreement on the reopening of the gate. Najibullah, a patient, said that Pakistan should be pressurized to allow the patients. There are two to three people with the patients. Pakistan is not treating us well.

Abdul Malik Samsor, a patient, said that based on the agreement reached between Afghanistan and Pakistan, 100 to 150 people should be allowed to cross the gate. The matter comes after the statement of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment that the closure of the gate affects the country.

According to TOLO News, the Taliban closed the Torkham Gate after Pakistan refused to allow Afghan patients to cross the gate. Meanwhile, Dawn reported that the Taliban closed the gate with Pakistan, accusing Islamabad of reneging on its commitments. Dawn also said that the Taliban commissioner in Torkham, Maulvi Mohammad Siddiqui, tweeted that Pakistan has not followed through on its commitments and hence the entrance has been closed on the instructions of our leadership. He advised people from Afghanistan to avoid traveling to the border crossing in eastern Nangarhar province.
