Dushyant Chautala urges PM Modi to resume talks with farmers, says this in the letter

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resume talks with agitating farmers' organizations that have been agitating on Delhi's borders for several months.

The Deputy Chief Minister has said in a letter to PM Modi that our 'Annadata' is sitting on the streets of Delhi on the border of three new agricultural laws implemented by the Central Government. It is a matter of concern that such movements have been going on for more than a hundred days. I believe that a solution to every problem can be found through mutual discussion. Chautala has asked the Prime Minister to form a committee of three to four cabinet members to interact with the agitating farmers.

The letter further states that earlier talks between the central government and farmer organizations have come up with some solutions to the concerns raised by the United Front. In this regard, a team composed of three to four senior cabinet ministers can lead the delegation to resume talks with farmers and reach a cordial conclusion.

He also mentioned that Haryana is the only state in the country where a total of six crops including wheat, mustard, pulses, gram, sunflower, and barley are purchased in MSP. Chautala said that I am sure that the purchase of farmers' crops on MSP in Haryana in collaboration with the central government will continue in the same way in the future.

Before the Chautala, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij had once again expressed serious concern about the agrarian agitation in the country as well as in Haryana, once again among the cases of fast-growing corona (COVID-19). Vij had said that today, once again the corona is spreading very fast, in such a situation, there is such a huge gathering of farmers on the borders of Haryana. I want to protect the corona infection from the public as well as the farmers. He had said that to deal with this situation, I am going to write a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar so that the dialogue with the farmers can be started again.

The movement continues since November 26 last year

Significantly, thousands of farmers have been demonstrating on the borders of Delhi and Haryana since November 26 last year against the new agricultural laws. Farmers adamant about repealing the agricultural laws have announced a cross-border battle with the government on this issue. The farmers have appealed to the government to accept their demands at the earliest. At the same time, it has been made clear from the government that the law will not be withdrawn, but the amendment is possible.

Explain that the farmers recently enacted three new agricultural laws - The Producers Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) ) Are opposing the Act, 2020. While the central government is introducing three new agricultural laws passed in September as major reforms in the agriculture sector, the farmers who are demonstrating have expressed fears that the new laws will end the MSP (minimum support price) and mandi system and They will become dependent on big corporates.
