The country's trade deficit widened by 172.7% to a record $26.18 billion in June, driven by an increase in imports. There was a trade deficit of $ 9.60 billion in June 2021.
According to government data, exports grew by 24.51% to $118.96 billion in the April-June quarter. Imports also increased by 49.47% to $189.76 billion. The trade deficit widened to $70.80 billion from $31.42 billion.
