Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has taken refuge in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) along with his family. He appeared in front of the world for the first time around 10:45 pm on the fourth day of leaving the country. Said- If I had not left the country, then there would have been bloodshed. I couldn't see this happening in my country, so I had to leave. I too would have been hanged.

Ghani also clarified the allegations of running away with the money. Said- I have not brought the country's money. These allegations are baseless. On US President Joe Biden's statements, Ghani said that we were talking to the Taliban, but it was inconclusive. He also thanked the army and the officers.

Ghani's full statement

“It was clearly stated in the agreement with the Taliban that they would not come inside the city of Kabul. On Sunday (August 15) afternoon, I was told by my guards that the Taliban had reached the boundary wall of the Presidential Palace. Had I lived in Afghanistan, the people of the country would have seen another President hanging on the noose of Sir-e-Aam. I did not leave the country with any kind of cash. After reaching UAE, I took customs clearance as a normal citizen. I have brought my clothes with me. Wanted to bring his library with him, but this too could not be possible. Our security forces have not failed. The country's big leaders and the international community failed. I want to return to my country and for this, I am in touch with Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah. These are the people who are negotiating with the Taliban. "

Understand the meaning of 3 important things said by Ghani

(1) Did not bring cash: In a statement on Tuesday, the Russian Embassy in Kabul alleged that Ghani fled with cash in four cars and a helicopter. The cash which could not be absorbed in it was left at the airport itself.

(2) Another President would have been hanged: In 1996, the Taliban captured Kabul and Afghanistan for the first time. Then Mohammad Najibullah was the president. The Taliban assured him of security, but a few hours later, Sar-e-Aam was hanged at a crossroads in Kabul. The body was dragged.

(3) Why talk of Watan Wapsi: Ghani and his government were strictly against Pakistan. Now some pro-Pakistan people are running propaganda on social media by calling him a traitor and a fugitive. The Taliban are in constant contact with Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah. Both of them are close to Ashraf Ghani. Therefore, Ghani wants to thwart the attempts to malign his image.

Ghani had left Kabul on August 15

Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on August 15 after the Taliban captured Kabul. where have they gone? Its suspense is over now. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) stated on Wednesday evening. It said- Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that we have welcomed former President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and his family to our country on humanitarian grounds.

The Taliban captured Kabul on Sunday. Earlier, Ghani had left the country with family and some very close friends. The next day i.e. on Monday, in a Facebook post, Ghani had said that he took this step to save the people of the country from bloodshed. However, his location information was not given.

there was much speculation

After Ghani escaped from Afghanistan, the market of rumors and speculations remained hot. It was said that they are in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, or Oman. Ghani's wife is of Lebanese origin. Therefore, it is also speculated that they may be in Beirut. Some reports said that the former Afghan President has reached America. However, now the UAE itself has put an end to these things. Ghani had admitted in a Facebook post that the Taliban had won.

Russia gave a shocking statement

A statement issued by the Russian embassy in Kabul said on Tuesday that Ghani took the cash with him in four cars and a helicopter. It was also said that some of the cash was left unattended when it did not fit into the cars and helicopters. Ghani has not said anything on the matter yet. The special thing is that the Taliban have also remained silent on this issue till now. Taliban leaders have taken possession of the presidential palace.

America turned away from Ghani

On Tuesday, when US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan was questioned about Ghani, he said – he no longer has any role in the Afghanistan case. However, America is still calling him 'President Ashraf Ghani'. The US says that there has not yet been a formal and legal transfer of power in Afghanistan.

UAE has given refuge to some leaders in the past

In 2017, when the situation in Thailand deteriorated, the UAE had given asylum to the then Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Shinawatra. Shinawatra was also sentenced to five years in his country. Spain's King Juan Carlos also lived in this country last year. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto also lived here in 2007.
