The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Wednesday suspended the Deputy Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer, and Site Engineer in connection with the death of two people when an under-construction Metro pillar collapsed. BMRCL has also requested the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to independently investigate the matter and provide a report. A case has been registered against the unknown in this matter.
Meanwhile, while narrating the incident, Lohit, the husband of the deceased woman, said that we were going somewhere in a two-wheeler. I was going to drop them somewhere. But, this incident happened suddenly. As I looked back, my wife and child had fallen. There was nothing I could do. Later both died.
