Gujarat Morbi Bridge Collapse: Administration in action after Morbi bridge accident, chief officer of municipality suspended

Hundreds of people died after a cable bridge collapsed in Gujarat's Morbi district. In this, many people lost their entire families and many families had to lose their children. Many lapses of Morbi Municipality and its officers were also revealed in this accident. Now the administration has taken big action regarding this accident. The chief officer of Morbi Municipality, Sandeepsinh Zala, has been suspended after the incident.

 

Recently opened bridge

Let us inform you that the broken bridge in Morbi district was recently opened for people after repair work. This bridge is famous here as a local tourist attraction. The accident took place on October 30 at around 6.20 pm and hundreds of people were present on the bridge during that time. Then suddenly the bridge broke down and hundreds of people drowned in the river. In this accident, 135 people died due to drowning.

PM held a high-level meeting

After this accident, PM Narendra Modi had a high-level meeting with the top officials of Morbi including Gujarat CM Bhupendra Singh Patel. Expressing grief to the people killed in the accident in this meeting, the PM asked the officials to take the strictest action against the culprits.

 

 

The bridge cable was rusted

Important disclosure was made in the FSL report after the bridge collapsed. It was found in the report that the cable was rusted and the bus floor of the bridge was replaced in repairs. The official said the cable had not been replaced nor was the bridge properly repaired. The investigating officer told the court that the tender process was not followed for the repair of the bridge.
