Gujarat Titans announced the replacement of Kane Williamson, this Sri Lankan player will play for the first time in IPL 2023

Gujarat Titans have announced the replacement of Kane Williamson who has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to injury. Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka has entered the Gujarat camp in place of Williamson.

 

Shanaka's entry in place of Williamson

Shanaka likes the T20 format and is known for his explosive batting. Along with the bat, Shanaka can also play an important role with the ball. Shanaka's performance was amazing in the T20 International series played against India and he scored 124 runs at a strike rate of 187 and an average of 62. Please tell that Shanaka will be seen playing for the first time in IPL. The white ball captain of the Sri Lankan team was not bought by any team in the auction.

Williamson was injured while fielding

Kane Williamson was injured during fielding in the match played against Chennai Super Kings. In fact, during the 13th over of Chennai Super Kings' innings, Williamson jumped and tried to stop an aerial shot played by Ruturaj Gaikwad at the boundary line.

 

During this, when Williamson fell, he could not handle his balance and injured his knee. After which Williamson was seen moaning in pain and had to leave the field.

 

Gujarat has started with a win

The team Gujarat Titans has started the IPL 2023 with an emphatic win. The team defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in their first match of the tournament. Shubman Gill played the best innings for the team, while Rashid and Mohammed Shami took two wickets each.
