Sambhal Violence: Alert after arrest of Masjid Committee chief, police increased security

The police were completely alert regarding the arrest of Jama Masjid Committee's Sadar Zafar Ali. Along with the police, PAC, RAF and RRF personnel were deployed in Sambhal city. Along with this, there was tight security around the Kotwali and Jama Masjid. Police officials along with paramilitary forces conducted a flag march in Sambhal city. After this, during the medical examination in Chandausi Hospital, the entire hospital premises and court premises were transformed into a cantonment.

After the arrest of Zafar Ali, the advocates raised slogans. Here in the court premises also, from the time Zafar Ali reached till he went to jail, the advocates raised slogans of Advocate Ekta Zindabad several times.

After the arrest of Jama Masjid Committee's Sadar Zafar Ali, the police administration is on alert mode to maintain law and order in Sambhal. On Sunday evening, SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi conducted a flag march in the city with RAF and a large number of police forces. During this, the police appealed to the people to maintain peace and asked them to stay away from rumors.

SP patrolled sensitive areas on foot along with police personnel and RRF. The flag march started from Kotwali and passed through Chakki Ka Pat, Jama Masjid, Chaudhary Sarai, Deepa Sarai etc. During this, SP talked to shopkeepers and local people and appealed to maintain peace.

There is a heated discussion in the city regarding the arrest of Jama Masjid Committee's Sadar Zafar Ali. Keeping this in mind, the police administration has tightened the security. Police is constantly monitoring suspicious activities and has also warned of strict action against those who post inflammatory posts on internet media.

Zafar Ali was brought to the hospital here for a medical examination at 4:30 pm. Dozens of policemen were already deployed before this. After this, when Zafar Ali arrived, police officers and police, PAC personnel arrived with him in a dozen police vehicles. Here, the entire area inside and outside the court premises was converted into a cantonment. In this, apart from Additional Superintendent of Police Shrishchandra, CO of Asmoli and Chandausi, police and PAC of Sambhal Kotwali, Chandausi Kotwali, Thana Nakhasa, Thana Hayatnagar, Thana Garhi, Asmoli etc. police stations were deployed.

When Zafar Ali was arrested and brought to the court where he practices, fellow advocates started sloganeering but calmed down after he appeared in the court. After this, when the debate was completed from both sides and the verdict was kept safe, the advocates of Zafar Ali's side, believing that now bail would be granted, started sloganeering again. After this, when the police were taking him to jail from the court, the lawyers also raised slogans.

Interrogation was also done on Saturday night.

SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said that on November 24, 2024, the disputed site was being surveyed. During that time, some people carried out incidents of stone pelting, firing, and arson. An FIR was registered in 335/24 in that case. In this case, Jama Masjid's Sadar Zafar Ali was arrested on Sunday and sent to jail. He was questioned about the violence on Saturday night as well. He was released by Ramzan. He was called again for questioning on Sunday morning, after which he was arrested.
