Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Election Date 2022: The Election Commission can announce the dates for the Gujarat Assembly elections on Thursday, November 3, 2022. The Election Commission has completed preparations for this. Gujarat elections can be held in two phases like in the previous ie 2017. Elections are likely in the last week of November or the first week of December. According to sources, the date of counting of votes will be December 8. Because the date of the results of the Himachal election is also 8th December.

 

The election commission will announce the election today at 12 o'clock

According to the news agency PTI, the Election Commission will announce the schedule of the Gujarat Assembly elections on Thursday at noon. The Election Commission has called a press conference to announce the schedule. Earlier this month, the Election Commission did not announce the Gujarat elections along with the dates for the Himachal Pradesh elections. Let us tell you that in Himachal Pradesh, polling will be held in a single phase on November 12. The counting of votes will take place on December 8.

 

Gujarat elections will be counted along with Himachal Pradesh

The Election Commission had indicated that the counting of votes for Gujarat would also take place on December 8, keeping the date of counting for Himachal Pradesh almost a month after the polling. In 2017 too, elections were announced on different dates in both states, but the counting of votes took place simultaneously on December 18.

 

Elections for 182 seats in Gujarat

There is a total of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Of these, 40 seats are reserved. 13 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 27 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and tribal society. In the 2017 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party got 99 seats, and the Congress had 77 seats. Two seats were won by the Tribal Party of India, one seat by the NCP, and independents won the remaining three seats. In Gujarat, there has been a contest between the BJP and the Congress in the elections for a long time, but this time the Aam Aadmi Party is also trying hard in the field for the assembly elections.

 

The term of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will end on February 18.

According to the Election Commission website, assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were held simultaneously in 1998, 2007, and 2012. Let us tell you that the term of the 182-member Gujarat Assembly ends on February 18, 2023.
