Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday directed all state health ministers to ensure that every adult is given the first dose of vaccine as part of the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign. During a virtual dialogue with all the states and union territories of the country, Mandaviya said that the fight against the coronavirus epidemic is now in its final stage. He also mentioned that more than 12 crore people are yet to be given the second dose of the vaccine.
Mandaviya said, 'Our two weapons against this epidemic will be most effective, vaccination and corona-compliant behavior. We should not lax till it is eliminated.' He said that at present 79 percent of the adult population has been given the first dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine and 38 percent have been given both doses. He also asked all the states to deliberate on ways to further accelerate the pace of vaccination.
Every eligible person must get the 'protective shield' of the vaccine
The Health Minister said, let us all make efforts together that no eligible citizen in the country should escape the 'protection shield' of the coronavirus vaccine. Let us reach every corner and every household of the country and encourage people to take both doses of the vaccine as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Har Ghar Dastak campaign. He said that the vaccine reduces the severity of the disease, so following the covid-compliant behavior not only protects us from this virus but also prevents the virus from decisions.
Tips to speed up vaccination
During the meeting, the Public Health Standards taken in the States and Union Territories to contain and manage the spread of COVID-19 were also reviewed. Mandaviya said that children can play an important role in encouraging people to behave Corona compliant and in spreading the message of complete immunization. To speed up the pace of vaccination, he also suggested starting vaccination centers at bus and railway stations, major metro stations, and major points of the city.
