IMF to Pakistan bluntly: Managing Director said – Learn to behave like a country, take money from us and give benefits to the rich

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has advised Pakistan to improve instead of issuing a new tranche of the loan. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has said that first of all Pakistan has to learn to behave like a country. He said- Pakistan is becoming such a dangerous place where the system is running only with the help of debt.

IMF Chief further said- The question is that IMF gives you a loan, but instead of the welfare of the poor, you use it in such a way that it benefits the rich of the country.

Pakistan currently has a debt of $100 billion. The inflation rate has reached close to 40%. The government has foreign deposits of just $2.7 billion. China has recently given another $700 million loan to Pakistan, but it is difficult to even meet one month's expenses.

IMF focuses on 2 things

In an interview given to 'Greek City Times', the IMF chief said - We are asking Pakistan to focus on two things in the beginning. First- Increase tax collection. It is surprising that there only a few lakh people pay taxes and they have immense wealth. Second- change the subsidy system. By what method do they take money from IMF and the rich get benefited from it? In reality, nothing reaches the poor who need it.

what kind of gesture

The MD of IMF did not take the name of Pakistan's army and intelligence agency ISI but quoted a media report in gestures. Said- How does a very poor country get 20% of the budget? Bureaucrats and other officers earn lakhs of rupees even after retirement. Your system is not working.

Recently in an IMF report, it was said that this year Pakistan has to repay the debt of $ 27 billion. It seems impossible because he doesn't even have exactly $2 billion. Even if the IMF releases an installment of $1.2 billion, nothing will happen. That much is his import bill only.

It was said in the same report- It is surprising that in a country with a population of more than 22 crores, the number of taxpayers is only 30 lakhs. These people also do tremendous tax evasion.

4 thousand billion rupees in the banks of 18 people

According to Siraj-ul-Haq, chief of Pakistan's biggest political and religious party, Jamiat-e-Islami, 4 thousand billion rupees are deposited in the banks of 18 people in the country. Haq claimed that he had a complete list of the names of these people. He also said that Pakistan is on the verge of bankruptcy and these people can save the country from bankruptcy if they wish. Siraj is considered close to Imran Khan.

Whose money is in the banks?

Generally, people in Pakistan are afraid to accuse politicians and soldiers. Siraj-ul-Haq did not hesitate at all in this matter. During a press conference in Islamabad, the chief of Jamiat said – only 18 Pakistanis can save the country from bankruptcy. About 4 thousand billion rupees are deposited in their different banks.

Haq further said – I have a list of all these people. These include politicians, army officers, judges, and bureaucrats. Now the time has come for these people to sacrifice for the country, withdraw money from their accounts and invest in improving the country's economy.

Siraj said in response to a question – Today there is a situation of do or die for Pakistan. If these people do not save the country today, then they will probably never get this chance. The inflation rate has reached 40%. The government has proved to be useless.

Siraj, who did the politics of religion, further said – What is the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government led by Shahbaz Sharif doing? Flour has become 160 rupees per kg. A person who has 12 members in his house, how will he feed them? The burden is being put on the poor every day. Now the situation has become such that the government is considering imposing tax even on breathing.

What did the IMF say?

Pakistan is seeking a bailout package of $6.5 billion from the IMF. The IMF team stayed in Islamabad for 10 days in early February but returned without releasing the $1.2 billion tranche.

In a conversation with Pakistan's newspaper 'The Express Tribune', an IMF official said – Pakistan will have to collect tax properly and it should be seen that it is spending tax money on the betterment of the poor. All kinds of subsidies have to be ended. How surprising that in Pakistan with a population of 220 million, 22% of people live below the poverty line. 49.6% of the country's income goes into the pockets of 20% of the people. Only 7% of money reaches 20% poor.

officer earning huge amount

On February 22, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khwaja Asif made a very shocking disclosure. Asif had said- Recently the daughter of a bureaucrat of Pakistan got married. We have a ritual called 'Salami'. In this, parents, relatives, and guests give gifts to the married couple. The bride alone got Rs 72 crore (Pakistan currency).

Asif had further said – He was not even a very big officer. You will be surprised that the same officer got his elder daughter married last year and then his daughter got Rs 1.20 billion in the salami ceremony. Big leaders of Imran Khan's party and Parvez Elahi, who was the CM of Punjab province till last month, also participated in that marriage.
