IND vs ENG: The success of fast bowlers on the spin pitch paid off, Indian spinners took 36 wickets and pacers took 22 wickets.

Till some time ago, spinners were considered a guarantee of success on Indian pitches, but the success of Indian fast bowlers in the five-Test series against England has tried to refute this. Especially Jasprit Bumrah broke the back of England's batsmen with his reverse swing and yorker and made India win the Visakhapatnam Test on his own.

Shubman Gill, who played two important innings of 104 and 91 runs in this series, also admitted on Wednesday that even though the pitches were not completely in favor of the Indian fast bowlers, their ability to take wickets at important junctures helped them against England. Has made a big difference in the test series. Gill admitted that Bumrah will be missed in the Ranchi Test, but other Indian fast bowlers also have a lot of experience of bowling in these conditions, so they can make an impact. He gave the example of Mohammed Siraj, who took four wickets in the Rajkot Test.

bowling as per conditions

Indian fast bowlers have taken a total of 22 wickets and spinners have taken a total of 36 wickets in this series. The number of wickets may have been in favor of the spinners, but Gill says that the fast bowlers kept the Indian team ahead by bowling as per the conditions. In this series, Bumrah has taken 17 wickets, Siraj has taken four wickets and Mukesh Kumar has taken one wicket, while among the spinners, Ashwin has taken 11 wickets, Ravindra Jadeja has taken 12 wickets, Kuldeep Yadav has taken eight wickets and Akshar Patel has taken five wickets. England's second innings in the Rajkot Test was such, where the Indian spinners took eight wickets and the fast bowler got one wicket.

Reverse swing made a weapon

Indian fast bowlers have used reverse swing very well in this series. Bumrah was special, but Siraj also played a key role in restricting England to 319 runs by taking four wickets in the first innings of the Rajkot Test. He also used reverse swing and yorker very well during this period. It was the success of the fast bowlers due to which India gave a befitting reply to England's baseball. England's batsmen used sweep and reverse sweep effectively against the Indian spinners, but they could not find the cut of Bumrah and Siraj.

Better opportunities for youth

Bumrah has been rested from the Ranchi Test under workload management. Gill says that as he said about Virat Bhai, the same applies to Bumrah. If a bowler like Boom Bhai is not playing then any team will miss him. Especially when he is the leader of our fast bowling attack, but Gill gives the example of Siraj and says that he also took four wickets in the Rajkot Test. He also said that the absence of players like Kohli and Bumrah is a great opportunity for the youth to prove themselves on the big stage. He gave the example of Sarfaraz Khan, who scored two half-centuries in his very first Test in Rajkot.

India can field four spinners: Pope

In the absence of Bumrah, it is expected that the match will be played on a turn-taking pitch in Ranchi. England vice-captain Ollie Pope says that they will not have any problem with the turning pitch, because if the spinners get help from the beginning, the match will be equal. With this, the role of the toss will become unimportant and there will be equal competition on the field. Pope feels that India can enter this Test with four spinners. Axar Patel can be fielded in this test as an alternative to Bumrah. Pope, who played an inning of 196 runs in the Hyderabad Test, said that if the pitch spins, we will see more sweeps and new types of shots. We have seen what kind of threat Jadeja, Kuldeep, and Ashwin can pose on spin pitches. Our best effort will be to keep them under pressure.
