Another year in international cricket is about to pass with bad memories for India's Test captain Virat Kohli. After 2020, they are also going to end 2021 without a century. Kohli did not bat in the Centurion Test against South Africa. He was dismissed after scoring 35 runs in the first innings and could only score 18 runs in the second innings. Kohli has not been able to score a half-century in the fifth consecutive innings. At the same time, the last century was scored 767 days ago.

Kohli doing the same mistake again and again

Kohli was caught by Marco Johnson at the hands of wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock. In the first innings, Kohli was caught by Wian Mulder at slip-off Lungi Ngidi. The manner of getting out in both the innings was the same. Kohli is dismissed in both innings in an attempt to drive the ball outside. Experts have said many times that when Kohli is not scoring runs, he should not try to play the ball that goes out, but the Indian captain is getting out by making the same mistake again and again.

How has been Kohli's performance in 2021?

Looking at Kohli's performance in 2021, he has scored 964 runs in 30 innings of 24 matches in all three formats. During this time his average has been less than 40. Kohli has scored runs at an average of 37.07. During this, 10 half-centuries have come out of his bat. He has not been able to score a single century. Kohli's last century was against Bangladesh at Kolkata Eden Gardens on 22 November 2019.

Only four fifties in 19 innings of Test

Kohli scored 536 runs in 11 test matches this year. He scored only four fifties in 19 innings. His average is 28.21. Virat had scored the last half-century against England at the Oval. On 2 September 2021, he scored 50 runs in the first innings of the Oval Test. After this, he could not score a half-century in five innings. He scored 44, 0, 36, 35, and 18 runs respectively.

Kohli's performance in ODIs and T20s better than Tests
