The Indian government has now banned the export of many things including flour and maida. It was approved on Thursday. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification on July 6 that now for the export of flour, it will be necessary to take approval from the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Wheat Exports.

Earlier in May, the government had banned the export of wheat. But since then the export of flour and maida suddenly increased, due to which this decision has been taken. The new decision will be implemented from July 12. Between July 6 and 12, only those exports will be allowed, which have either been loaded on the ship or have been handed over to the customs.

Approval is required for the export of many more goods

It has been said in the notification that apart from flour, approval will also have to be taken for maida, Rava, and whole flour from the inter-ministerial committee. These can be exported only after getting the approval of the committee. It has been said in the notification that a separate notification will be issued regarding the necessary provisions for the quality of wheat flour.

try to control prices

In fact, on May 13, when the export of wheat was banned, there was a sudden increase in the export of flour. This is expected to affect the availability of flour in the domestic market as well as increase the prices. Along with this, some companies had also increased their prices. Due to this the government's plan to ban wheat exports was not successful. Now with the new restriction, this plan will be implemented.

The Russo-Ukraine war escalated the crisis

After the Russia-Ukraine fighting since February this year, there has been a crisis of food shortage around the world. India also took a lot of measures to keep the prices under control. Although he is still supplying essential things to needy countries. Since the ban on exports from May 13, till June 22, India has sent 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to dozens of countries. This includes Afghanistan, Indonesia, Qatar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Vietnam, Yemen, and Malaysia, among other countries.
