India China Conflict China is once again not deterring its antics in Ladakh. Now there is news of Indian shepherds being stopped by Chinese troops at Demchok near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Chinese soldiers have asked the Indian shepherds to leave from there and never come again, saying that the Demchok area belongs to China. The Chinese soldiers did this act on August 21. The Indian Army has spoken to China on this issue. It is learned that the villagers of the area used to go and graze their animals for centuries, and the Chinese soldiers have stopped the Indian shepherds from going. That area was completely under the control of India. But for the first time, such an incident has happened amidst the tension on the LAC in eastern Ladakh.

Although there is a standoff between the two countries regarding the arrival of the Chinese army in the Demchok area, the Chinese soldiers have now stopped the Indian shepherds from coming forward. The area that the Chinese soldiers claimed as their own is the land near the Sadal Pass in Demchok. After the matter came to light, Indian military officials in the area have spoken to their Chinese counterparts.

The Indian Army has made it clear that there has been no face-off or confrontation between the soldiers of both countries on this issue. This is the same area where there has been a standoff between the armies of the two countries for the last two years. This situation has arisen due to the arrival of Chinese troops and permanent construction. The Indian Army has also made heavy military deployments in the area. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey and Regional Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi are regularly visiting the area to take stock of the situation.

 

Relationship will decide border situation: Jaishankar

 

On the other hand, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar once again said on Monday that the situation on the border will determine the relations between India and China. He also emphasized that relations should be based on mutual sensitivity, mutual respect, and mutual interest. The border situation in eastern Ladakh between India and China has been tense for the last two years. A large number of troops have been deployed from both sides at the points of confrontation.

 

In his address at the launch of the Asia Society Policy Institute, Jaishankar said that the future of Asia largely depends on how the relations between India and China develop shortly. He said that a positive and stable relationship must be based on mutual sensitivity, mutual respect, and mutual interest. He is aware of the current situation.
