India Lockdown Update: Full lockdown imposed in many states including Rajasthan-Kerala, strict restrictions increasing the rest of the states; See list

Amid the deepening crisis in the Corona epidemic, many states have begun to take more stringent measures. The number of states announcing the lockdown also continues to grow. Some states including Maharashtra, Bihar, and Odisha have already been put on lockdown, now Kerala and Rajasthan have also announced full lockdown. Because of the increasing cases in Kerala, the government has announced a full lockdown in the state for nine days from the morning of May 8. Chief Minister P. Vijayan said that the lockdown will be in force from 6 am to 16 May on 8 May. He said that the supply of essential services will be ensured during this period.

 

10 full lockdown in Rajasthan

 

The Rajasthan government has also announced a strict lockdown in the state. The lockdown is being implemented from May 10 to 24 to prevent a second wave of epidemic in the state. Everything will be closed except essential services. Because of the increasing cases, strict restrictions have been imposed in Tamil Nadu from 4 a.m. on Thursday, which will remain in effect till May 20. Under this, only frontline workers connected with emergency services have been allowed to travel in suburban trains. Government offices have been asked to work with 50 percent of staff. Public vehicles including the metro will also run with a capacity of 50 percent. All shops except grocery and vegetable shops will remain closed. However, they will also not be allowed to open in the shopping complex.

 

Consideration of strict measures in Karnataka as well

 

The Karnataka government is also considering implementing strict measures in the state to curb the epidemic. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will hold a meeting with his cabinet colleagues and senior officials on Friday. Other measures including lockdown in the state will be considered.

 

Lockdown extended till May 10 in U.P.

 

The lockdown has been extended till May 10 in UP. In the past, the lockdown has been increased from Thursday to Monday. During this period, there will be complete closure, but shops of essential goods and essential services will continue.

 

Delhi

 

The coronavirus lockdown in Delhi has been extended until May 10. In Delhi, it was decided to extend the lockdown for one week last week. The national capital has been under lockdown since April 19 and will continue till May 10.

 

Maharashtra

 

It imposed a curfew-like lockdown and restrictions on the movement of people with prohibitory orders on April 5. Restrictions have since been extended to 15 May.

 

Lockdown extended to 15 in Chhattisgarh

 

In Chhattisgarh, the lockdown was again extended till 15 May on Tuesday. Raipur and Durg districts, where the infection is under some degree of control, have been given additional leeway in both these districts.

 

Bihar also has lockdown till May 15

 

Keeping in mind the ever-increasing cases of Corona, the Bihar government has decided to put a lockdown in Bihar from May 5 to May 15.

 

Lockdown till 19 May in Odisha

 

In Odisha, the lockdown has been imposed till May 19. The 15-day lockdown in Odisha will continue Odisha from Wednesday to May 19.

 

Punjab

 

Apart from measures like mini lockdown, weekend lockdown, there are extensive restrictions and the night curfew will remain in force till 15 May.

 

Karnataka

 

The lockdown is underway from the night of 27 April to 12 May.

 

Puducherry

 

The lockdown has been extended till May 10.

 

Jammu and Kashmir

 

The administration has extended the lockdown in Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, and Jammu districts till May 6. Night curfew continues in the Corporation / Urban Local Bodies boundary of all 20 districts.

 

Mizoram

 

A lockdown of eight days from May 3 at Aizawl and other district headquarters.

 

Strict restrictions in the rest of these states

 

Apart from this, Corona has been banned in many states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu.

 

Gujarat

 

Night curfew continues in 29 cities. Also prohibited movement and gathering in public places.

 

Madhya Pradesh

 

The Corona Curfew is in force till May 7, where only essential services are allowed.

 

West Bengal

 

Extensive restrictions were imposed last week, including a ban on all types of gatherings.

 

Assam

 

The night curfew was carried out at eight o'clock in the morning at six o'clock in which the movement of people in public places was restricted from Wednesday. Night curfew is in force from 27 April to 7 May.

 

Tamil Nadu

 

Has imposed extensive restrictions including a ban on all political, social, and cultural activities until 20 May.

 

Goa

 

The four-day lockdown ended on Monday but the lockdown continued at tourist destinations such as Calangute and Candolim in North Goa. Restrictions due to Covid-19 will continue till May 10, during which various business establishments will remain closed while restrictions on political and social programs.

 

Andhra Pradesh

 

A partial curfew has been announced for two weeks from May 6, from 12 noon to six in the morning. The state had earlier imposed a night curfew.

 

Telangana

 

Night curfew continues till May 8.

 

Nagaland

 

A partial lockdown has been imposed with stringent regulations from 30 April to 14 May.

 

 

No lockdown in Telangana

 

Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Thursday that his government was not considering imposing a lockdown, as it would trouble the common people as well as adversely affect the economy. He said earlier experiences suggest that lockdown is not effective in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
