The condition laid before coming to India

Even before its arrival in India, Pfizer Company has placed a condition. Pfizer has said that it will give its Covid-19 vaccine only through government contracts. This means that this vaccine may not be found in private hospitals in the country unless the government gives these vaccines to private institutions.

Pfizer made this decision at a time when India has made changes in its Covid vaccination strategy one after the other. It has given this option to companies that they can sell their vaccines to states or even private hospitals at slightly higher prices. A Pfizer spokesperson said that the company would provide vaccines in India, but in this phase of the epidemic, it would prioritize government vaccination programs.
