Ordering an LPG cylinder in India is now set to become as convenient as ordering groceries online. Quick-commerce platform Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to introduce the country's first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service, allowing customers to book gas cylinders directly through the Instamart app—even without an existing LPG connection.

The newly launched service is designed to offer faster and hassle-free LPG access:

Customers can order LPG cylinders directly through the Instamart app.

Initially, 5kg and 10kg HPCL LPG cylinders will be available.

The pilot service has been rolled out in Bengaluru.

Expansion to additional Indian cities is expected in later phases.

Users do not need a registered domestic LPG connection to place an order.

Why Is This Launch a Big Deal?

This is the first time an LPG delivery service has been integrated with a quick-commerce platform in India, bringing instant delivery convenience to an essential household product.

The partnership aims to:

Reduce waiting time for LPG cylinder deliveries.

Offer greater convenience for urban consumers.

Digitize and simplify the gas ordering process.

Provide easy access to portable LPG cylinders for temporary or emergency needs.

A Major Step Toward Digital Energy Services

India is the world's second-largest LPG consumer, with major public sector companies including HPCL, Indian Oil, and BPCL serving millions of households.

The Instamart-HPCL collaboration represents a significant move toward digital, app-based energy delivery, aligning with the country's rapidly growing quick-commerce ecosystem and changing consumer expectations.

As the pilot progresses successfully, the service could be expanded nationwide, potentially transforming how millions of Indians purchase LPG cylinders.
