Motorola has expanded its tablet portfolio in India with the launch of the Moto Pad 70. The new tablet combines a large 12.1-inch 2.5K display, a massive 10,200mAh battery, a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor and Android 16.
The Moto Pad 70 is positioned as a premium tablet with a slim and lightweight design. It also comes with a Moto Pen in the retail box and supports 5G connectivity.
The tablet will go on sale in India from August 15, with an initial discount of ₹5,000 available to buyers.
Moto Pad 70 Price in India
The Moto Pad 70 price in India starts at ₹33,999.
Motorola is offering the tablet in two variants, while the company has announced an initial discount of ₹5,000.
Sales will begin from August 15 through the company's retail and online sales channels.
The Moto Pad 70 joins Motorola's existing tablet lineup, including the previously introduced Moto Pad 70 Groove, which features nine JBL speakers.
Moto Pad 70 Design and Weight
The Moto Pad 70 focuses on a slim and lightweight design despite housing a large battery.
The tablet measures just 6.29mm in thickness and weighs approximately 530 grams.
The front panel features slim bezels surrounding the large display, along with a front-facing camera. At the rear, Motorola has placed a single-camera setup.
A USB Type-C port is positioned on the bottom frame for charging and connectivity.
Motorola is also bundling the Moto Pen with the tablet, giving users an accessory for note-taking, drawing and other productivity tasks without requiring a separate purchase.
The tablet is offered in the Pantone Sea Angel colour and carries an IP52 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
12.1-Inch 2.5K 90Hz Display
The Moto Pad 70 features a 12.1-inch 2.5K IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.
The screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which should deliver smoother scrolling and animations than standard 60Hz panels.
The display has a peak brightness of up to 800 nits and carries TUV certification for eye protection.
Motorola has also focused on reducing blue-light exposure, making the large screen suitable for extended viewing, reading and productivity sessions.
Moto Pad 70 Processor and Performance
The tablet is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset.
The octa-core processor is manufactured using a 6nm process and operates at clock speeds ranging from 2.0GHz to 2.5GHz.
Graphics are handled by the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The Moto Pad 70 uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, providing the hardware required for multitasking, entertainment and everyday productivity.
Users can also expand the tablet's storage by up to 2TB using a memory card, making it suitable for those who need additional space for videos, photos, documents and other files.
Android 16 and Software Updates
The Moto Pad 70 runs Android 16 out of the box.
Motorola has promised two generations of Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.
The software support should help keep the tablet updated for several years, particularly for users who plan to use it as a long-term entertainment or productivity device.
Moto Pad 70 Camera Setup
For photography and document scanning, the tablet features a 13MP rear camera.
The front camera has an 8MP sensor and is designed primarily for video calls, online meetings and selfies.
While tablets are generally not purchased primarily for photography, the rear camera should be useful for scanning documents and capturing basic images.
10,200mAh Battery With 68W Fast Charging
The biggest hardware highlight of the Moto Pad 70 is its 10,200mAh battery.
The large battery is designed to provide extended usage for activities such as streaming videos, browsing the internet, gaming and productivity.
Motorola also includes a 68W fast charger in the box, allowing users to recharge the large battery more quickly.
Audio and Connectivity Features
For entertainment, the Moto Pad 70 comes with dual speakers featuring Dolby Atmos support.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The combination of a large 2.5K display, Dolby Atmos audio, 5G connectivity and a high-capacity battery makes the tablet suitable for both entertainment and productivity.
